Home Remedies for Dark Circles under the Eyes:

1. Apply cucumber juice on the black circles with cotton for 2-3 weeks regularly.

2. Mix equal amount of almond oil and honey and apply a few drops on black circles for 2-3 weeks. Both wrinkles and black circles are cured.

3. Dip five almonds in water, peel them and chew nicely in the morning or make a paste and take along with 250 grams of milk daily for 21 days.

Natural Remedies for Eye Care:

1. Keep equal amount of triphala powder and sugar candy (powdered) in a glass jar and take one teaspoonful with one teaspoonful of honey on an empty stomach morning and evening and drink 250 gm of milk over it for 2-3 months. This cures all the diseases of the eyes.

2. To make eyes beautiful, after washing the eyes with triphala water apply olive or almond oil around the eyes and massage gently. It makes eye muscles strong and soft and the skin around the eyes looks healthy.

Eye Care Tips:

•           Take a vitamin diet to make eyes brighter. Papaya, eggs, fish, milk, and cilantro.

•           Wash eyes with cold water to get sparkling eyes

•           Put sliced cucumber over your eyes to treat dark circles.

•           Put potato slices on your eye to get rid off those dark circles.

•           Soak amla overnight in water and use this water the next morning to wash the eyes.

•           Soak cotton in Luke warm milk and cover eyes with it for 15 min.

•           To soothe tired eyes, dip cotton pads in chilled milk and place on closed eyes for 10 minutes. Now relax completely.

•           To completely relax the eyes and the surrounding muscles, close your eyes and think of something that is pleasant or soothing and at a distance. Now gently open your eyes and look into the distance. Next focus on an object at arm’s length. Do this extremely relaxing exercise four or five times a day.

•           If your eye twitches, or your eyes are red and feeling itchy, massage your scalp with curd.

•           Soak 1 tsp. dry amla in one cup of water overnight. Next morning strain it through a muslin cloth and then add one extra cup of water. Splash your eyes with this solution each morning. This makes your eyes sparkle.

•           For Puffy Eyes: Grate a potato with its peel and apply on your closed eyelids for about 20 minutes and relax completely. You may even take a nap.

For the best UV protection, look for glasses that black 99% of UVA and UVB.

Make sure lenses are dark enough. For optimum, they should screen out at least 75% of visible sunlight to check the tint, try them on and stand a foot or two away from a mirror. If the lenses are dark enough, you would not be able to see your eyes.

Opt for a wraparound design; it blocks peripheral light and offers the most protection.

Be wary of vague or blood labels, such as “blocks harmful UV” (even plain glass blocks some UV) or “offers 100% UV protecting” (nothing offers 100% UV protection)

Don’t judge a lens by its price tag. Cost is not a good indicator of lens quality or UV protection.

Give glasses the distortion test. Hold them at arm’s length and look through the lenses of a straight vertical line in the distance, such as the edge of a door. Slowly move them from side to side across the line. If the line distorts, sways, curves or moves, the lenses have imperfections.
